The Gibson Company, a commercial real
estate, management, and brokerage firm was founded in 1991
by Billy V. Smith, a veteran of 25 years in the Lexington
real estate market, and Douglas Gibson who began his real
estate career in 1964. These partners had previously
joined
forces when they ventured out for a few years before
collaborating again over a decade ago to give service to the
industry they so greatly revered.
Having worked for many of the same
clients for several years, they felt their combined
strengths would be more valuable as business partners.
Their professional experience includes both having been
selected as Lexington's Realtor of the Year, with Doug
Gibson also receiving Kentucky Realtor of the Year honors.
Mr. Gibson served a term as President of the Kentucky
Association of Realtors and Lexington Bluegrass Association
of Realtors (LBAR). They currently both hold responsible
leadership positions in the LBAR.
